The back story
GardenSpirit Garden retreat is the dream-come-true of Linda Roggli, born of a vision that inspired her in late 2000: to create a place of safety and serenity for women who seek to find their own wisdom.
GardenSpirit began life as a three-acre tract of land in northern Durham County that was (and is) the private home of Linda and Victor Roggli.
Over the years, the Rogglis bought adjacent property, created extensive gardens, planted hundreds of perennials, flowering shrubs and trees, cut meditation paths through the woods and in 2006, completed a seven-circuit outdoor labyrinth.
In August, 2006 Linda and Victor purchased a suburban home that (almost) adjoined their property and created GardenSpirit Guesthouse. The addition brought the land acreage to 7.5.
In 2008, a detached art building was moved onto the property and the budding gardens are being expanded. Plans call for a cart path from the guesthouse to the labyrinth which will enable mobility-limited guests to reach the far corners of the retreat property.
